1920s Lazytown

Can I say I loved Lazytown since it first aired in 2004? Since I was a wee teenage, I decided to watch the first episode the day it aired and fell in love with the characters and songs. Got excited when they came to Sesame Place (worked there for a few years) and wanting it to never end. (so excited for the new stuff)
So years later while watching it, I decided it would be a good thing to see what happens if I put the characters in the 1920s.
So today while watching it, the idea came back and I went with it.

The story goes as follows:
Sportacus is a runaway circus clown from Robbie Rotten's circus. Sportacus got bored and saw some kids trying to inmate him so he decided to help the kids learn to do the tricks themselves. Now he plays an endless game of hide-and-seek from Robbie while teaching the kids circus acts.

Need to get better at drawing Robbie.
Blimp right now it a giant giant, I'll probably draw him smaller if and when I draw him again.

Hope ya enjoyed!

Honeyglows.

I really loved this movie. So much I need to find a way to watch it over and over.
This is what Disney can do. Make stories like this, make it fun for everyone and I'll be darned if I didn't fall in love with the characters.
Especially dorky, love-struck characters like Fix-it-Felix Jr.

Goliath and the kid

The other day I had this great crazy dream. It was silly and like most dreams, didn't make much sense once I woke up. Yu-gi-oh card battles, churches showing weird animes, and this little story about a giant taking care of a little kid who actually isn't a little kid but changed into one with magic!
So I'm taking that last idea and making it into something:

Basic drawings of the two based off my dream. The little kid tried to eat the umbrella but when the giant (named him Goliath) tried to take it from him, the kid wouldn't let it go.

The story is a basic one. A knight and Goliath are fighting, one to gain the role as ruler of a small kingdom and the other protecting it. While the fight goes on, a witch is walking by. Annoyed by this display of roughness, she attacks them and although Goliath gets away unharmed, the witch casts a spell on the knight. The spell changes the knight into a small child.
The child confused by what's happening, starts crying as the witch slips away laughing at her work.
Now Goliath needs to figure out what to do with the knight who doesn't even know who he is.

It is a silly tale. And I really just wanted to draw a little kid who wears shirts too big for him and wants to eat everything:

IF: Zoom

Let me introduce Simon and his giant corgi, Golden!

For illustration fridays, I thought I design little characters that have been in my head for weeks. It would a good practice and keep me going. So things might change in future posts.
I just kept thinking of a giant lovable corgi.

I also just like corgis.

See ya next week!

CandyCanes

Well it's Christmas time and one of my favorite things in the world is candycanes. So much in fact that in high-school I made a character called the CandyCane fairy and went around giving people candycanes. In college, I did the same thing, but kept a candycane or two on my person at all times.
Seems silly, but they are the best candy.
Also it's good tea. Candycane tea is very good tea. Can't drink or eat anything candycane though until after Thanksgiving. That's my rule.

I also like drawing the candycane fairy as a grumpy old man as long with a happy little magic kid.

You'll be seeing more of him as Christmas draws near!

Shadow of the past

I've made this for a contest thing.
I didn't win, but that just means I can show this piece now instead of next year.
Also can be seen on My art tumblr along with a few other things that I won't be putting on his blog.

But this is the first drawing of the girl ghost and also where I thought out a story so I have a bit of pride.
In the next month I will be playing around with a few ideas for this and experimenting with watercolors and ink.

I'm hoping you'll like her as much I like drawing her.

I am lazy

Well since I failed on the Halloween thing I was creating.
I am terrible with getting things done and then Hurricane Sandy came. She made the wind really bad and I was scared to death my windows would cave in.
But my family was lucky. No power-outages, nothing hit the house or the cars. We lost a flag but that's about it. Everything and everyone is okay.
So I was working on other things to make sure I don't go mad from the fear of my window caving in.
You get to have the first real look (twitter got some things here and there)
Other then this, you probably won't be seeing or hearing anything about it.
It's for something else but I'll probably mention about it once it's complete and I start posting!
PS It's 1920s related.

Also this is November which means it's NaNoWriMo!
And I am doing a little mini version for myself to write at least 30,000 words of a story I wrote for a project in a writing class.
A story about little adventurers, talking mice, dragons, evil princesses, and pickle trees!
You might be seeing bits here and there since I might draw some parts to figure out what I want to happen.

So wish me luck that I actually do stuff!
