End tof the world?

I'll just watch Sherlock Holmes through it.

I started yesterday to just watch all the versions of Sherlock holmes I have which is a lot but not nearly enough if you ask me.

While watching 'The Great Mouse Detective' I drew myself in it and I'm just that annoying fan from across the ocean. Modern day ish.

Also BBC Sherlock:

After my daily Doctor Who watch, I'll be watching more Sherlock Holmes versions.

You're a terrible Damsel in Distress.

After Mitch realized Am is not a good Damsel in Distress, he decided she was a better assistant knight to save the Teddy Bear Princess Candy from the dragon. Now they defend the Stuffy Kingdom from dragons and other creatures of legend.

Also more solid pictures of Am's brother, David:

Designs are finally coming together how I like them. Need to do some more test colors and go from there.

Jack Frost

I quite like Rise of the Guardians and hope to watch it again. It really doesn't deserve the low box office stats.
But anyway, I'm drawing things for our Christmas palm tree again this year and even though North and Baby Tooth are my favorite from the movie, we don't have anything Jack Frost related around the house. So much Santa Clause and snowmen.
And I do like Jack Frost's design.

Now I need a printer that prints color.

Mitchell and Amelia

Say hello to Mitch and Ame (and Mr. Wobbles)! Main characters to my story 'The Girl in the Drawing!'
Haven't really used markers in awhile so why not? I have free time might as well play around with clothing and colors.

Now I'm gonna storyboard a few things.

1920s Lazytown

Can I say I loved Lazytown since it first aired in 2004? Since I was a wee teenage, I decided to watch the first episode the day it aired and fell in love with the characters and songs. Got excited when they came to Sesame Place (worked there for a few years) and wanting it to never end. (so excited for the new stuff)
So years later while watching it, I decided it would be a good thing to see what happens if I put the characters in the 1920s.
So today while watching it, the idea came back and I went with it.

The story goes as follows:
Sportacus is a runaway circus clown from Robbie Rotten's circus. Sportacus got bored and saw some kids trying to inmate him so he decided to help the kids learn to do the tricks themselves. Now he plays an endless game of hide-and-seek from Robbie while teaching the kids circus acts.

Need to get better at drawing Robbie.
Blimp right now it a giant giant, I'll probably draw him smaller if and when I draw him again.

Hope ya enjoyed!

Honeyglows.

I really loved this movie. So much I need to find a way to watch it over and over.
This is what Disney can do. Make stories like this, make it fun for everyone and I'll be darned if I didn't fall in love with the characters.
Especially dorky, love-struck characters like Fix-it-Felix Jr.

Goliath and the kid

The other day I had this great crazy dream. It was silly and like most dreams, didn't make much sense once I woke up. Yu-gi-oh card battles, churches showing weird animes, and this little story about a giant taking care of a little kid who actually isn't a little kid but changed into one with magic!
So I'm taking that last idea and making it into something:

Basic drawings of the two based off my dream. The little kid tried to eat the umbrella but when the giant (named him Goliath) tried to take it from him, the kid wouldn't let it go.

The story is a basic one. A knight and Goliath are fighting, one to gain the role as ruler of a small kingdom and the other protecting it. While the fight goes on, a witch is walking by. Annoyed by this display of roughness, she attacks them and although Goliath gets away unharmed, the witch casts a spell on the knight. The spell changes the knight into a small child.
The child confused by what's happening, starts crying as the witch slips away laughing at her work.
Now Goliath needs to figure out what to do with the knight who doesn't even know who he is.

It is a silly tale. And I really just wanted to draw a little kid who wears shirts too big for him and wants to eat everything:

IF: Zoom

Let me introduce Simon and his giant corgi, Golden!

For illustration fridays, I thought I design little characters that have been in my head for weeks. It would a good practice and keep me going. So things might change in future posts.
I just kept thinking of a giant lovable corgi.

I also just like corgis.

See ya next week!

CandyCanes

Well it's Christmas time and one of my favorite things in the world is candycanes. So much in fact that in high-school I made a character called the CandyCane fairy and went around giving people candycanes. In college, I did the same thing, but kept a candycane or two on my person at all times.
Seems silly, but they are the best candy.
Also it's good tea. Candycane tea is very good tea. Can't drink or eat anything candycane though until after Thanksgiving. That's my rule.

I also like drawing the candycane fairy as a grumpy old man as long with a happy little magic kid.

You'll be seeing more of him as Christmas draws near!

Shadow of the past

I've made this for a contest thing.
I didn't win, but that just means I can show this piece now instead of next year.
Also can be seen on My art tumblr along with a few other things that I won't be putting on his blog.

But this is the first drawing of the girl ghost and also where I thought out a story so I have a bit of pride.
In the next month I will be playing around with a few ideas for this and experimenting with watercolors and ink.

I'm hoping you'll like her as much I like drawing her.

I am lazy

Well since I failed on the Halloween thing I was creating.
I am terrible with getting things done and then Hurricane Sandy came. She made the wind really bad and I was scared to death my windows would cave in.
But my family was lucky. No power-outages, nothing hit the house or the cars. We lost a flag but that's about it. Everything and everyone is okay.
So I was working on other things to make sure I don't go mad from the fear of my window caving in.
You get to have the first real look (twitter got some things here and there)
Other then this, you probably won't be seeing or hearing anything about it.
It's for something else but I'll probably mention about it once it's complete and I start posting!
PS It's 1920s related.

Also this is November which means it's NaNoWriMo!
And I am doing a little mini version for myself to write at least 30,000 words of a story I wrote for a project in a writing class.
A story about little adventurers, talking mice, dragons, evil princesses, and pickle trees!
You might be seeing bits here and there since I might draw some parts to figure out what I want to happen.

So wish me luck that I actually do stuff!

2012 Trick or Treat: pages 02-03

Sorry for the 2 day delay, but this is why I have trouble with finishing things.
Got to get better at that.

Trying a few things different on this.
(Like just the inking, because I need to work on the coloring part.)
Also a sorry for that weird split. I hav to try and find a way to fix that but I had to scan it in pieces and usually that's all good and fine but it just wasn't my day to scan correctly it seems. So at the moment (and probably forever actually) it will stay this way. It doesn't help that the scanner can barely fit a 8.5x11.

Now I need to bust my butt to get this done for Halloween! I am already behind!
Gonna try and get the next page up tonight, tomorrow there will be none because work and I'll be at a haunted house scaring children with a horrible neck wound.

2012 Trick or Treat: page 01

Yes! First page of my Halloween experimental short story comic!
I would have gotten it up sooner but alas I am lazy and was at work all day, so the next few days will be put up at night since I can finish the last bits when I get home.

Hope you will enjoy it!

EXPERIMENT

Just a little experiment for what I am going to have up next week for Halloween!
Although this was technically Moleskin and Moleskin paper is yellowish, it didn't come out too bad.
I am going to do a combination of red lead, black lead, inks (browns and blues), and a little digital brushing for added colors.
Vlad here has pale skin so it's a bit wasted.
I should have drawn Cindy with her pink outfit. Maybe tomorrow.

Now excuse me as I pretend I can actually create a typeface.

Later!

'Come on my sister...'

'This is all ours. We must take it back...'

Drew this while in line waiting to met Terry Pratchett at NYCC.
Did a quick inking thing to play around with coloring.

I still haven't decided on her name or even how I want David's outfit. Even her outfit colors will change around until I choose.

Also writing a short Halloween story about a vampire.
So look out for that short in two weeks!

Shadow's story

Just another little something something for my story "The Girl in the Drawing"
I'm probably going to fix the wolf's teeth in the next day or so.

It's October everyone! Time for ghosts and monsters to come out of hiding!
Will being working on this story all through October for this glorious month (Halloween being a favorite holiday of mine) and make sure you dress scary to scare the monsters away for another year!

Mo out.

Mine~

From the same project that the Unnamed Ghost girl is from.
This actually being her brother, who has a name and his name is David.
He's still in the design works but I like his "wolf" mode.

He really just wants everything to be his.

He's gonna have teeth like a Anglerfish! Cause I can and that makes him a bit more scary.
...at least to me.

Unnamed Ghost girl

I've started a little project (actually 4 but that's not important) that I call "The Girl in the Drawing" which this is one of the characters who as of right now doesn't have a name.
I'm open for suggestions.

I'll be playing around with this story. It'll be pretty much like a chapter book but not.
Also don't mind me playing around with styles either. I am trying to pick the best one. I can't even decide between traditional or digital!

Merida

Tried my hand at a modern day Merida (From the Pixar movie Brave) who is pretty much wearing the same school uniform I wore in grade-school. Including the ugly yellow shirt.
Done in ballpoint pen and ink on Moleskine.

Studies: Motorcycle

Well I have been neglecting this. I've been neglecting a lot of my drawing things but luckily I am getting back to it with a plan!
One of the plans is getting getting better at objects which I'll be putting some here to keep this alive and hopefully get some illustrations up here in the next few weeks. And hopefully the drawings will get better and even the objects make more sense.

(Ignore all the spelling mistakes, I know there are some)
One of my stories has a motorcycle, very important to the story and it would probably be a good idea to get better at drawing them. So later on when i draw it again, it'll look better!
Based off an American 1920 Police Motorcycle.

Vroom vroom.

More TV head! and suits.

Yeah, he's quite fun to draw. I think he's adorable.
Little mouse TV head, I will be drawing you more. That and I am drawing mice more, I like mice.

I also like drawing suits if you haven't caught on in the last two posts. This is the first of 3 little prints I'm making. I still have to do the third one

I'll be drawing mice and trying out painting again. Got an idea for something silly a few days ago.

Talk to ya later! Don't drink the Johnny Jump-ups now!

Thursday, July 12, 2012

TV face.

Just something I drew at work and I like his design and will probably be drawing him more.
I need a new business card design anyway.
I like drawing suits. I like drawing mice. Let's combine the two and not in the way I usually would! haha.

Actually been getting back into reading the last few weeks. I missed reading.
Started reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman and so far I am in love with it.
Talk to ya later!

IF: Sight

Finally! Got around to actually doing another one of these themes.
This one is based off when I was 7 or 8 when I got glasses for the first time and being unable to see distance, it was an amazing sight to be able to see leaves in detail far away. It was almost as amazing as that time I could read the "Do not park, Fire line" in parking lots.

Was playing around with coloring. I haven't really nailed down a style for coloring in photoshop yet but I like playing around.

When I finally get my scanner working, I'll have sketches to show.

Have a nice rest of the week!

Illustration Friday.

Captain Amermouse

Finally everything is coming together! No more schoolwork so now I can work on important things in life! Like drawing Captain America as a mouse.
Shhhhhhhhh
It's for my little brother who is graduating high-school and going off to college.
I'll probably draw a Loki mouse because a friend asked me too.

Can't wait for tomorrow. I haven't been able to buy myself a comic for months and I want to get into Hawkeye comics.

Thesis set up.

Oh wow. Blogger changed everything hasn't it? Oh dear.

So I haven't been able to update blogger for one big reason.
This:
Bam! Thesis wall.
Two more prints than I was originally planning too. And there's even more spreads in the little booklet, not the whole story but quite a chunk from it. The story would have been 35ish pages if I got it all done but I only had 3 months for all this because I changed my thesis halfway through the year, but this is more than I thought I would have. I just needed 4 up, I got 6 up and about 3 more spreads in the book with a few extra paintings.
And a little Juniper Bonsai tree:
I have dubbed him Crowley for silly reasons. He is one out of 8 and of 2 that survived through winter of my dad's set. The poor thing but I have been taking care of him.
He's a very good plant.

One more detail shot of the prints together.
It's quite scary right now. I wrote this before the show even opened Wednesday night but thought it would better to show off the next day. I'll add anything needed when this goes up in case anything exciting happens.

Once school is over and I gave in my last essay, everything will clam down and the real world begins. I'll be working some comics and illustrations I have been wanting to work on for months now. My etsy shop will have more things to sell and things will be moving.

Thank you for reading and wait for more to come~!

Everything coming together.

It's exciting as it is slowly getting close to the end of the year as much as it is nerve-racking.
Been trying to draw a cover for my thesis all day but it is one of those blah days. Thankfully there's this amazing thing called photoshop! Yay. So I am just drawing the rest on here and inking tomorrow.
I am also my own model as you can see in the back. Also Pascha, the wooden head. I am going to hate giving him back at the end of the year.

ALSO VERY EXCITING:
Business cards! My very own! I'm all professional now. Also the same mouse from the top of my blog. He's just going to be my little buddy for this year's promos. He's cool. World War 1 mouse.

Other than thesis, I have been drawing Fanart of Good Omens and if you haven't read this, I suggest you do. It is the story that kept me calm in my junior year.
I am hoping to ink them at one point and color but I am still trying to figure out what to do with them.

I'm tired.

Thesis Progress.

Since I haven't been working on Illustration Friday drawings like I wanted to, I decided to show off a bit of how some of my thesis is coming along and showing one of the inks of a the drawing I showed in an earlier post.
All inked and fixed a bit in Photoshop. I should hopefully have it painted tomorrow along with at least two others.
I little screenshot of a makeshift spread I am trying to work at. There seems to be something a miss and I can't remember what that may be.

And since I am showing you that page anyway, here's a little sketch for it I am proud of:
I'm not sure if my idea I have is going to work but I thought I'd at least show it off because I do like the pencil lines.

I need to make sure I have two spreads in context by Wednesday next week so those come first. Good thing I don't have classes tomorrow.

Enjoy!

Monday, March 5, 2012

Not before your brother.

Because someone did ask about what my thesis is about.
It's the Grimm Fairytale "The Juniper Tree." I'm drawing different parts from it. I would like to create a book at the end but that might be too much for me to get done.

This is something from my thesis. I wish I could show you the inking I finished today of it but scanners have a habit of not working in my parents' household. Ah well.
I just love drawing little girls' clothes!

Also a little fanart of Adventure Time! The Flame Princess is my favorite character.
Just the lineart. I'm thinking of playing with thicker lines but I never tried that in photoshop so it should be a nice experiment. I plan on coloring it later, probably after I draw a few more things for thesis.

Enjoy.

IF: Capable

So I decided to start up the Illustration Friday topic to get myself moving and have more than trees to show off. And I think "capable" is a great word to start with don't you think?

Done with sepia ink.

Wednesday, February 22, 2012

Colors.

And have one last tree for awhile.
Sepia ink and watercolors.

Now I'm going to go ink something a little bigger than I am use to.

Saturday, February 4, 2012

Trees.

Little bit of my thesis that I have finally been able to get together. In the end there's going to be four trees for the four seasons. The pencil is the summer and the inked one is the fall.
I usually ink in sepia which I oddly enough broke today.
Great day.
